'Mesclun', the word, originated in France. The name is derived from the Latin verb "miscere' which means to mix or mingle. Mesclun as a base, is very distinct with flavours of Asian Brassicas (cabbage family) such as Japanese Mizuna and Mibuna, Chinese Tatsoi and Kale plus a sharp mix of Red Beet and Red Spinach.
There are also many seasonal variations to this mix with the addition of other young greens such as Rocket and Endive. Mainland Fresh Cuts Mesclun stays true to its origin, with a tantalising selection of young mixed salad greens. With such an array of flavours, colour and texture this salad is a great accompany to any meal or can be enjoyed as is, with the addition of your favourite dressing!
